Issues
Issues are matters of concern to our communities.
Below is a list of issues created by members of Project 2059.
Please order the issues you feel most strongly about. Order at least one, but there is no need to
order them all — just the ones you feel strongly about. You can add a new issue to the list using the button at the bottom of the page.
Although this is part of a much greater national issue, Oregon will feel the need to diversify its energy reserves and discover and utilize new ones as current supplies dwindle. Oregon must utilize its already pioneering hydroelectric research, as well as overcome its irrational fear of nuclear power if it is to continue to have a robust economy and affordable energy.
As America's history has progressed, it has had a continual series of struggles for civil rights in various communities. Today, more than ever, it is the LGBTQ (etc.) community. With 4 states already taking steps towards full inclusion of LGBTQ relationships under marital statutes Oregon must decide where it will stand on this issue.
